Planning for a Fall Golf Getaway-Something to be Thankful For

26 November; Author: mikedeagle

Planning a golf trip is an exciting time in a golfer’s life. It’s one thing to play golf on your local municipal or Country Club course but another to visit a magnificent resort destination such as Myrtle Beach or Disney World, two of my favorite locations to golf. My significant other and I are just putting the finishing touches on our itinerary for our fall golf trip, which we are taking in early December. Myrtle Beach here we come! In a couple of weeks we will start preparing for our weekend getaway and the golf clubs will be the first item to be packed for the trip. Loading up on golf balls, tees and ancillary items such as band aids, sun tan lotion and bug spray is always a good idea, depending on ones destination and climate expected upon arrival. The photo shown below is Caledonia Golf and Fish Club located in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. It’s exquisite design and beauty make it one of our favorite places to play when we visit Myrtle Beach. It is listed in the top 100 courses to play and if you ever have the opportunity to golf  there you will understand why.

Myrtle Beach in December can provide some tropical weather if you hit it just right. The temperatures are normally in the mid to high 50’s but they can go either way very easily, 40’s or 80’s are possible so it is better to be prepared for the varied conditions you may find upon your arrival and during your stay. So at this festive time of the year and especially today, Thanksgiving, it is a good time to ponder about what we all have to be thankful for.  Remember to give thanks for your health, a loving family, good friends and having a specially prepared holiday meal on the table, being at the top of the list but golf and being able to enjoy fun family vacations are always great fun should not be taken for granted. I would like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Golfing to All!
